To je svjetlosna pojava u visokim slojevima Zemljine atmosfere u obliku lukova, korona, pruga, zavjesa i raspr\u0161enih svijetlih povr\u0161ina. Spada me\u0111u najljep\u0161e prizore koji se mogu vidjeti u prirodi. Kad se ona pojavi, \u010desto se na nebu \u010duje prasak, a veliki, sjajni luk koji je neprestano u pokretu, osvijetli no\u0107. Kada Sun\u010deve \u010destice, poznate kao solarni vjetar,  se sudaraju s Zemljinom magnetosferom, stvaraju se sjajne zeleno-\u017eute, plave, i crvene boje koje se mogu vidjeti na nebu. Poma\u017ee nau\u010dnicima da bolje razumiju Zemljino magnetsko polje i procese koji se doga\u0111aju u magnetosferi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:22px\"><strong>ZANIMLJIVOSTI O POLARNOJ SVJETLOSTI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Polarna svjetlost se naziva aurora borealis na sjevernoj hemisferi i aurora australis na ju\u017enoj hemisferi.<\/li><li>Stari Rimljani su naziv &#8220;aurora borealis&#8221; dali po rimskoj bo\u017eici zore Aurori i gr\u010dkom bogu sjevernog vjetra Boreasu.<\/li><li>Neki svjedoci tvrde da su \u010duli zvukove poput pucketanja ili \u0161i\u0161tanja kada su promatrali polarnu svjetlost, iako nau\u010dnici jo\u0161 uvijek istra\u017euju ovu pojavu.<\/li><li>Polarna svjetlost je povezana sa solarnim bakljama.
